Park County- Powell/Cody Properties

Powell an All-America City, has much to offer its residents and visitors including an 18 hole championship golf course, Homesteader Museum, agricultural tours, multiple city parks and sports fields, hockey rink, shopping, and Northwest College.  The college provides high quality education in intimate classroom settings.  Northwest is popular for its accredited academics including its well known nursing program in addition to their full athletic program.

Powell’s development stemmed from the desire to create a flood irrigation system in the Powell Valley.  The water supply comes primarily from snow melt above Buffalo Bill Reservoir near Cody and waters over 88,000 acres of farmland through the Shoshone River irrigation system.  Homesteading was linked with the availability of irrigation water.  To this day agriculture is a large part of the economy of Powell.

Cody has a rich and colorful past, present and future.  Cody is near the East Entrance to Yellowstone National Park and so much more.  Chief Joseph Scenic Highway, the Absaroka and Beartooth Mountains call Cody neighbor.  Cody nurtures a diversified business community focused on tourism, energy, agriculture, manufacturing, retail and the arts while maintaining the western spirit exemplified by Cody’s namesake, William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody.  Besides outdoor activities in area national forests and wilderness areas, are Cody Nite Rodeo, Buffalo Bill Historical Center, the Red Canyon Wild Mustang Tours, Buffalo Bill Dam & Visitor Center, Cody Gunfighters, and more.
